Shonda is a graduate of Northeast High School c/0 1990, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff graduate c/0 1995 and recent graduate (October 2013) of the Arkansas Fashion School where she studied: Pattern Making, Body Draping and Couture Design. Frustrated with her inability to find stylish pants for tall women and clothes to suit her style, Shonda returned to her dream of becoming a fashion designer in 2012, and enrolled in the Jamileh Kamran School of Fashion Design (later renamed the Arkansas School of Fashion), where she is currently enrolled. Shonda introduced her first label, “Love R.O.C.S” at the 2013 Annual Designers Choice Fashion Preview. Since then, Love R.O.C.S has been named Clothing Line of the Year by Little Rock Fashion Week and has showcased in numerous runway shows including New York Fashion Week. Shonda continuously supports charities in her own backyard and around the world including Timmons Arts Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Glass Slipper Closet, ALS in Wonderland and Hope 4 Kids International.
Shonda Stroud Ali-Shamaa currently lives in Conway Arkansas with her husband Omar and her children: Christopher and RahShonda.
Meet Shonda Stroud Ali-Shamaa, Chief Designer of LOVE R.O.C.S. A native of North Little Rock and daughter of Tommie Lee Stroud and Nancy Dokes Stroud, Shonda’s desire to create beautiful clothing for women began as a young girl gathering scraps from her mother’s sewing projects and hand-stitching dresses for her Barbie. Beginning her studies at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff in Fashion Merchandising, she eventually changed her major to Accounting. She graduated from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff in 1995 with a B.S. in Accounting. In 1996, she began her career with Electronic Data Systems (EDS) as an accountant; she eventually moved from accounting to system engineering and is currently a Project Manager with Cognosante.
